Is it just us or is it really hard to find a good burger? I feel like even when you try to explain a "good burger" it comes down to different levels.
-A "Good" Fast Food Burger- Usually thin but flavorful if you get a good one. Toppings are critical.
-A "Good" Restaurant Burger- Good flavor, nice width, but usually kind of dry and overcomplicated with too many toppings.
-A "Good" Homemade Burger- As thick as you want it, seasoned with a dash of TexJoy, and juicy thanks to the little bit of butter you put in the center.
We grew up on homemade burgers and kept finding ourselves disappointed with the restaurant burgers we came across in the city, that is until we came across Burgerlicious. We had been low-key stalking them for a few months and actually ended up winning a giveaway to try one of their burgers. We're always looking for new black owned businesses in Austin and love to support and showcase whenever we can.
Location: It's a food truck so the location changes. As of today, they have two locations- The Arbor Food Park on E 12th Street and Southern Heights Brewing on 6014 Techni Center Dr. Both locations give you the opportunity to get dessert or a beer without losing your spot. The unpaved lot is also pretty easy to park in as long as it isn't too crowded.
Instagram Worthiness: We love the food truck design and defiantly think its the perfect background for your lunch/dinner photos. The outdoor setting also gives you the chance to get some sunset selfies. Plus, they managed to make their burgers good and photogenic at the same time.
Menu: The menu is simple, but they cover the majority of burger cravings. If you like it basic, get the classic True Destiny with American Cheese and standard toppings. If you want something with a lil kick in it, put the Lit Burger topped with grilled jalapeños and pepper jack cheese in your life. And if you really feeling fancy, try the Shroom burger topped with Swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms, and garlic aioli. All burgers come with fries that can be customized with different herbs and spices. And they didn't forget about the vegan! Order the Rachel for a Veganlicious experience. Plus, you can was it all down with their Lemonade juice packs.
Price: $10-$15 for your burger and fries. Add a drink and extra toppings to round it off to a hot $20.
Taste: The burgers are juicy af. Like go head and grab some extra napkins so you can really enjoy it. They're also seasoned to perfection but not overly seasoned to where you can't tase the ground beef flavor. We've tried the Harmony and the Delicious Burger. You can't go wrong with either of them. The toppings are fresh and don't overpower the burger. The fries are pretty basic and can be upgraded with Cajun, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Jalapeño, Greek seasoning and more.
Service: The Burgerlicious fam truly makes you feel like family when you step up to the truck. Expect a warm smile and a genuine desire to make sure you enjoy your food. The wait for the burgers isn't too long 15-25 minutes, especially when you know you're getting it hot and fresh.
Who Would Like This Spot: Anybody that loves a good seasoned burger, your friend that's always trying to hang out at a food truck park, and your family when everyone is craving a burger, but don't feel like making one.
Rating: 9/10 Seasoning Bottles. We would love to see some handcut fries in their future.
Unapologetic Tip: Order online for faster pick up. The food truck park gets lit after a certain time and if you aren't planning to eat their you'll want to be in and out.
What's your favorite Austin burger spot?
